Tajik Ambassador Meets with the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad – 22 July 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, held a meeting with the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on 22 July 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, transport, and energy, says press note. Particular attention was devoted to the implementation of the CASA-1000 regional electricity transmission project.

The parties underscored the strategic importance of the project for strengthening regional integration, enhancing energy security, and promoting sustainable development in the participating countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the regions of the Republic of Tajikistan.
