Riyadh Air Makes Inaugural Arrival at Lahore Airport
Karachi – 20 August 2026 (MT Team) : Riyadh Air’s inaugural flight RX-676 arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIAP), Lahore, from Riyadh, marking an important milestone in strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The inaugural aircraft received a ceremonial water salute by Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Fire & Rescue Services upon arrival at Lahore Airport.
A ribbon and cake-cutting ceremony was subsequently held at the International Departure Lounge. The ceremony was graced by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Almalki, who participated in the ceremony along with the Chief Operating Officer/Airport Manager and Deputy Airport Manager, AIIAP Lahore.
On the occasion, the Saudi Ambassador presented commemorative souvenirs to the Chief Operating Officer/Airport Manager, Deputy Airport Manager, PAA AIIAP Lahore, and Chief Security Officer, Airport Security Force.
The ceremony was attended by senior management of Riyadh Air, including the Group CEO, Director and Chief Operating Officer, along with senior officials of the Pakistan Airports Authority and Airport Security Force.
Riyadh Air is expected to operate three flights per week between Riyadh and Lahore, providing an additional direct air link between the two cities and facilitating passenger movement.
The inaugural arrival of Riyadh Air at AIIAP Lahore marks an important step towards enhancing air connectivity and further strengthening the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh Air’s operations in Pakistan were also inaugurated at Islamabad International Airport on August 14, where its inaugural flight RX-660 from Riyadh was received with a ceremonial water salute and an inauguration ceremony attended by the Saudi Ambassador, DG PAA AVM Zeeshan Saeed, senior officials and Riyadh Air management.
Pakistan Airports Authority warmly welcomes Riyadh Air to Lahore and looks forward to the successful growth of its operations in Pakistan.
