Interior Minister Naqvi, Minister State Talal Chaudhry Meet Polish Minister Tomasz Siemoniak

‎Islamabad – 7 October, 2026 (MT Team) : Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry held a meeting with Polish Minister and Head of the Council of Ministers Tomasz Siemoniak. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Pakistan and Poland and ways to further enhance security cooperation were discussed.

‎The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in security, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, illegal migration and collaboration between law enforcement agencies. The need to give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation and further strengthen high-level contacts was also emphasized.
‎
‎The meeting agreed to finalize various MoUs, including Mutual Legal Assistance, at the earliest. It was also agreed that a delegation of the Ministry of Interior, led by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, would visit Poland soon to further strengthen bilateral relations.
‎
‎The two sides agreed to expand employment and legal migration opportunities for Pakistanis in Europe as part of efforts to curb illegal migration. The meeting also discussed expanding people-to-people, trade and business ties between Pakistan and Poland.
‎
‎The two sides also discussed the possibility of introducing a visa-free facility for holders of official passports of Pakistan and Poland.
‎
‎Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the Government of Pakistan has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, illegal migration and organized crime.
‎
‎“Government measures have resulted in a 64 percent decline in illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
‎
‎He said that greater mutual cooperation and bilateral coordination could significantly reduce these crimes. Polish Minister Tomasz Siemoniak assured Pakistan of his full cooperation in this regard.
‎
‎Polish Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said that Pakistani citizens arriving in Poland through legal channels would be welcomed. He said that Pakistan and Poland share a common position on counter-terrorism and security matters.
‎
‎The Polish Minister said that, alongside political and security relations, promotion of economic ties between the two countries was also extremely important.
‎
‎Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked Poland for its cooperation regarding the European Union’s GSP Plus scheme.
‎
‎Polish Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said that Poland fully supports Pakistan’s sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region.
‎
‎Secretary Interior and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
