National Readers’ Conference 2025

Islamabad – January 24, 2025 – National Readers’ Conference 2025 was successfully organized by the CEO of Read Pakistan, Syeda Fatima Hassan Gillani, and the team of Read Pakistan, at the prestigious Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The event brought together a vibrant community of readers, writers, educators, and intellectuals to celebrate and promote the culture of reading in Pakistan.

The National Readers’ Conference 2025 served as a vibrant forum for discussions on literacy and education, featuring esteemed speakers from diplomatic missions, academia, and the literary community. Highlights included keynote speeches, panel discussions, book launches, and interactive sessions, fostering dialogue on the role of books in critical thinking and creativity. Read Pakistan also hosted competitions in essay writing, poetry, and storytelling, with winners honored by embassy representatives. CEO Syeda Fatima Hassan Gillani emphasized the event’s role in promoting a reading culture in Pakistan, celebrating young readers like Amna Usman and Muhammad bin Umar. The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to literacy and education.

The National Readers’ Conference 2025 was attended by several distinguished guests, including Alexandra Baptista, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Portugal, and Gillez Hachez, First Secretary at the Embassy of Belgium. Farhan Aziz Khwaja, Director General of the Civil Services Academy Lahore, along with national prize-winning authors Dr. Rakshanda Parveen and Dr. Sadiqullah Khan, also participated in the event.

The conference featured insights from Edtech Expert; Sanobar Nazir, Writer and Activist; and Maya Sofia Hamidi, Principal of RUNG School of Music and Arts. Syeda Fatima Hassan Gillani, CEO of Read Pakistan, played a key role in hosting the event, where young reading enthusiasts like Amna Usman, recognized for reading 100 books, and Muhammad Bin Umar, the youngest reader at just seven years old, were also honored.
