110 Medical Students Explore Creativity at PNCA Pottery Painting Workshop

Islamabad – 22 August 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : PNCA hosted a Pottery Painting Workshop for medical students of FUSH on Saturday, 22 August, 2026 at the National Art Gallery Islamabad, on special request for around 110 students from the Foundation University School of Health Sciences (FUSH) Rawalpindi.

The workshop provided a hands-on introduction to the art of pottery painting, emphasizing creativity and traditional craftsmanship, says press note.

Participants engaged in decorating ceramic items, exploring color, design, and traditional motifs. Under the expert guidance of skilled instructors, attendees learned techniques to transform plain pottery into unique, hand-painted pieces.

Designed for beginners, the session offered a practical, ‘do-it-yourself’ approach to learning while encouraging self-expression through art.

“This workshop was part of our ‘Art for Therapy’ series, which aims to merge artistic expression with mental health benefits,” said Mariam Ahmed, Director Visual Arts Division PNCA. “We are delighted to offer this enriching experience to medical students, promoting both creativity and wellbeing.”

By the end of the day, participants left with their own hand-painted pottery creations, a testament to their creative efforts and the workshop’s focus on therapeutic art practices.

Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is dedicated to promoting art and culture across the nation. One of our top priorities is to encourage art practice through community outreach programs. This initiative harnesses the therapeutic power of art to support mental well-being and foster creativity within our communities.
