Turkish Language Classes Officially Begin at GC Women University Faisalabad
Pakistan–Türkiye Educational Cooperation Strengthens with Turkish Language Classes at GCWUF
Faisalabad – 8 July 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : Turkish language classes were officially launched at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) under a collaborative initiative between the Yunus Emre Institute and the university.
The launch ceremony was attended by university officials and representatives of the Yunus Emre Institute. Director of the Women Development Centre, Dr. Sadaf Naqvi, welcomed the initiative and thanked former Country Director Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Yunus Emre Institute officials, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen for their efforts in establishing the Turkish language program. She said the courses would provide valuable academic opportunities for students and faculty members.

Addressing the ceremony online, former Country Director Prof. Dr. Halil Toker expressed hope that the newly launched classes would benefit students. He highlighted the shared cultural heritage of Türkiye and Pakistan and said the Yunus Emre Institute plays an important role in promoting the Turkish language and culture.

Country Director Eren Miyasoğlu briefed participants on the institute’s activities in Pakistan and emphasized the importance of learning Turkish. He also discussed educational opportunities in Türkiye and the academic benefits of the language program, while expressing hope for future joint cultural activities between the institute and the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen said the introduction of Turkish language classes would help strengthen academic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye. She added that the initiative would enable students to take advantage of educational opportunities in Türkiye and further deepen bilateral relations.
