Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh Attends Chinese Song Competition in Islamabad

Islamabad – 9 May 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : On the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the “Water Cube Cup” Chinese song competition was held, with Federal Minister for Investment and Chairman of the Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, attending as the chief guest. The event was attended by officials from the Chinese Embassy, representatives of the Chinese Cultural Center and Confucius Institutes, artists, and students.

Addressing the ceremony, the federal minister described the diplomatic ties as a “magnificent symbol” of the deep and longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China. Relations between the two countries are “higher than the mountains and deeper than the oceans,” founded on mutual trust, respect, and a shared vision of prosperity, He said.

Highlighting the importance of arts and culture, the minister said such cultural events should be organised regularly because they serve as an effective means of connecting hearts beyond borders. “While economic corridors connect regions, it is culture, music, and language that truly bring people closer together,” he added.

Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said there are vast opportunities in the sectors of industry, technology, agriculture, and minerals, and Chinese investors should take full advantage of these opportunities.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh also met a delegation led by Mian Saleem Wali from Chiniot and expressed concern over the poor construction of the Chiniot–Faisalabad Road. Speaking to the delegation, he said that a dignified rally would be held in Chiniot to mark one year of the glorious victory in the “Marka-e-Haq”. In addition, the federal minister will distribute five liters of free petrol each to 10,000 motorcycle and rickshaw drivers in Chiniot.
