Former Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has claimed that Pakistan shot down four Indian Rafale fighter jets, not three as previously reported. Speaking in an interview, Dar stated that during heightened military tensions between Pakistan and India, the Pakistani Air Force successfully downed four Rafale jets belonging to the Indian Air Force. This claim contradicts earlier public accounts which mentioned only three aircraft. Dar’s statement has sparked discussions in both countries, especially as the Rafale jets are considered a key part of India’s modern air defense system. However, there has been no official confirmation from Pakistan’s military, and India has consistently denied such losses. The claim, if verified, would mark a significant moment in South Asian military history. Analysts believe the statement may be politically motivated or symbolic, but it has nonetheless drawn attention to the ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and their complex military engagements.
