The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced Pakistan’s first ‘Dematerialised Digital Identity Card’, a groundbreaking step toward a fully digital identification system. This innovative digital ID allows citizens to store and access their identity on smartphones via the Pak ID mobile application, eliminating the need for physical ID cards.
The pilot phase for this initiative is set to launch on August 14, 2025, coinciding with NADRA’s silver jubilee celebrations.
