Pakistan Announces Three-Day Public Holiday for Eid ul-Fitr 2025

The federal government has officially announced a three-day public holiday for Eid ul-Fitr, providing a festive break for citizens across Pakistan. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays will be observed from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2, allowing people to celebrate the joyous occasion with their families.

Astronomical models predict that the Shawwal moon will be visible on March 30, indicating that Eid ul-Fitr in Pakistan is likely to fall on March 31, 2025. However, as per Islamic tradition, the official date will be determined based on the sighting of the crescent moon. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will assess testimonies from across the country before making a formal announcement regarding the commencement of Shawwal.

Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and devotion for Muslims worldwide. The public holidays will allow people to engage in Eid prayers, family gatherings, and charitable activities, fostering a spirit of unity and gratitude.
