OGDCL Launches Nationwide Tree Plantation Drive

In a powerful step towards environmental sustainability, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has launched a nationwide tree plantation drive under its ongoing green initiatives. This strategic move underscores OGDCL’s commitment to combating climate change and enhancing Pakistan’s green cover through responsible corporate actions.

First Phase: Mango and Date Palm Trees in Multan
The campaign kicked off at the OGDCL Regional Office in Multan, where the first phase has already seen the plantation of 1,017 mango trees and 200 date palms. These trees not only contribute to ecological balance but also offer economic and nutritional benefits to the local communities in the long run.

Expanding Green Footprint to Dhodak and Kot Addu
Building on the success in Multan, OGDCL is extending the tree plantation drive to its Dhodak and Kot Addu sites. A significant 100 acres of land has been designated for afforestation at these locations. This large-scale initiative reflects the company’s vision of a greener, more sustainable Pakistan.

Leadership Support: MD/CEO Endorses the Initiative
To highlight the company’s strong environmental commitment, OGDCL MD/CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak personally visited the Multan Regional Office. His visit reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to integrating environmental responsibility into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

A Step Towards a Greener Future
This plantation campaign is part of OGDCL’s broader vision to support eco-friendly practices, reduce carbon footprints, and encourage biodiversity. By focusing on afforestation across its operational zones, OGDCL is actively contributing to national and global climate action goals.
