OGDC Achieves Major Production Surge at Kal-03 Well
The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has successfully enhanced oil production at its Kal-03 well located in Chakwal district, Punjab, marking a significant milestone in its production optimisation efforts.
Prior to the intervention, the well was producing approximately 50 barrels of oil per day (BPD) under natural flow conditions. Following a carefully executed workover operation, production has surged to an impressive 750 BPD.
Advanced Workover Techniques Drive Production वृद्धि
The substantial increase in output was achieved through the application of advanced engineering solutions, including:
- Multistage Physico-Chemical (MPC) treatment
- Installation of an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP)
These techniques are designed to enhance well performance, improve flow efficiency, and maximise hydrocarbon recovery—particularly in mature oil fields where natural pressure has declined.
Strengthening Production from Mature Fields
This achievement is part of OGDC’s broader strategy to optimise production from existing assets. By revitalising mature wells like Kal-03, the company is able to extract greater value from its resources while maintaining cost efficiency.
