HRD Korea’s EPS Center in Pakistan Urges Returning Workers to Claim Dormant Insurance Benefits Worth KRW 300 Million
Islamabad – 30 October 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Pakistan EPS Center of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea), headed by Center Director Park Jeong-bang, is urging Pakistani workers who returned home after completing their maximum permitted stay of four years and ten months in the Republic of Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS, E-9 visa) to claim their uncollected departure guarantee insurance and return cost insurance benefits.
The benefits, known as “dormant insurance benefits,” remain unclaimed by Pakistani workers who returned home without receiving their insurance payments for an extended period.

According to the official statement, the Dormant insurance benefits refer to departure guarantee insurance and return cost insurance payments held by HRD Korea after the three-year statute of limitations has expired from the date the right to claim the benefits arose, where eligible policyholders have not collected their payments.
Currently, approximately 500 cases of unclaimed dormant insurance benefits involving Pakistani workers remain outstanding, with the total amount estimated at around KRW 300 million.
However, the Center has faced difficulties in contacting eligible workers individually, as many have changed their residential addresses or contact numbers, while the contact information available for others is incomplete or unclear.
To address this issue, the Pakistan EPS Center, in cooperation with Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), has published information on workers with unclaimed dormant insurance benefits on the OEC’s official website.
Pakistani workers who have returned home after working in the Republic of Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS), as well as their authorized representatives, can check the OEC website to determine whether they are eligible to receive these benefits, says press note.
Those identified as eligible should prepare the required documents in accordance with the instructions provided on the website and submit their applications by registered mail to the Pakistan EPS Center.
Meanwhile, workers who have recently returned to Pakistan without applying for their departure guarantee insurance or return cost insurance benefits may also seek assistance. They can apply directly to the insurance company Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance by following the procedures provided to them upon departure from Korea, or submit their applications through the Pakistan EPS Center.
The Center encourages all eligible former EPS workers and their authorized representatives to check their eligibility and complete the necessary procedures to claim their unclaimed insurance benefits.
