Mashal Association Vows to Keep the ‘Torch of Hope’ Burning for Future Generations
Islamabad – 26 August 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : Gosha-e-Mashal School marked Pakistan’s Independence Day of 14 August,with a grand ceremony filled with national fervor, cultural performances, and tributes to the nation’s heroes.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Reshma Naveed Iqbal, daughter-in-law of Aftab Iqbal, son of the Poet of the East, Allama Iqbal (RA). The Special Guests were Salahuddin Chaudhry, former Ambassador of Pakistan, and his wife Seema Salahuddin.
Students welcomed the distinguished guests with warmth and presented an impressive program comprising national songs, speeches, and patriotic tableaus. Their outstanding performances earned great applause from the audience.
Upon his arrival, Guest of Honour Salahuddin Choudhry was given a guided tour of the School, escorted by some senior faculty members, such as the classrooms, arts & crafts, home skill training, medical center, hairdressing salon, and sports facility. He was thoroughly impressed by the conglomerate teaching segments and by the cleanliness & ambiance of the School premises.
In his keynote address to the students & faculty, Choudhry profusely praised the upkeep & simplicity of the School giving free education and the great service run by the Management Team of dedicated educationists & teachers – those who kept education & knowledge as the top priority for the poverty-stricken children of the socially disadvantaged people.
While comparing the children of Ghosha- e-Mashal to bouquets of scented flowers, he wished them on Pakistan Independence Day to be patriotic and follow the advice of the Father of Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who wanted children to study hard to become worthy citizens and abide by his motto of unity. faith & discipline.
In his talk, he fondly recalled his and his spouse association with Mahgul Apa, now Mashal Secretary, who was the first lady in the Pakistan Diplomatic Mission, Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, where he first served as Second Secretary under Ambassador Dr. S. Koreshi.
Furthermore, guests offered valuable suggestions for the school’s future and expressed commitment to launching new programs in collaboration with Gosha-e-Mashal.
The President of the Mashal Association, Fauzia Asim, congratulated the students and teachers on their excellent academic results and paid tribute to the founding members of Mashal for their lifelong service to education. She expressed confidence that the “Torch of Hope” of Mashal will continue to shine brightly.
The success of the event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the Director Education Unsia, Education team, teachers, and students.The school administration also thanked all Mashal Association members who attended despite the weather and added vibrancy to the occasion.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
