Islamabad – 17 July 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Pakistan hosted a grand reception in Islamabad on Thursday to commemorate the National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The event was attended by senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of civil society, and members of the media. Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, attended the reception as the Chief Guest.
Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Egypt and Pakistan, symbolizing the enduring friendship and strong bilateral relations between the two countries. A commemorative cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the occasion in a spirit of celebration and goodwill.

Welcoming the participants, Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan Dr Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan said Egypt and Pakistan enjoyed a deep, longstanding and multifaceted friendship rooted in mutual respect, shared values and strong fraternal bonds between their peoples.
He said bilateral relations had gained significant momentum over the past two years through high-level exchanges, including visits by Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty to Pakistan and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar to Egypt.
The ambassador said these engagements had strengthened political consultations and expanded cooperation in key strategic sectors.
He added that Egypt highly valued its strategic partnership with Pakistan and looked forward to translating the positive momentum into practical achievements through stronger trade, business cooperation and closer institutional engagement.
The envoy also praised the warmth, generosity and hospitality of the Pakistani people, saying these qualities reflected the enduring friendship between Egypt and Pakistan, as per the statement.

Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal during his address says Pakistan and Egypt enjoy a long-lasting relationship rooted in shared history, common values, and mutual respect.
Addressing a ceremony marking Egypt’s National Day in Islamabad, Jam Kamal extended congratulations to the government and people of Egypt on behalf of the President, the Prime Minister, and the people of Pakistan.
The Minister said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Egypt, describing it as a key partner in the Arab and Muslim world.
He said the two countries maintain close cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.
Jam Kamal said Pakistan and Egypt have consistently stood together on issues of mutual concern and worked closely to promote peace, stability, and development in the Muslim world and beyond.
He appreciated Egypt’s efforts to promote regional peace and its constructive engagement in addressing contemporary challenges facing the region.

Federal Minister also commended Egypt’s role in facilitating humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people and expressed gratitude for its cooperation in enabling the delivery of Pakistan’s humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Jam Kamal said Pakistan highly values Egypt’s generous support in Pakistan’s health sector.
Kamal also expressed satisfaction over the growing defence cooperation between the two countries, including training exchanges and high-level military visits.
