Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Pays Tribute to Armed Forces and Nation on Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos
Islamabad – 9 May 2026 (MT Team) : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq marking the completion of one year of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, stated that this historic day holds great significance in Pakistan’s defence history, as the brave Armed Forces of Pakistan responded decisively to brutal Indian aggression, carried out successful retaliatory actions, and crushed the hostile designs of the adversary.
NA Speaker recalled that under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and effective military strategy of Chief of the Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the operation was successfully executed with the highest level of professionalism and coordination. He said the synergy between the entire political and military leadership brought the whole nation as one single entity and effectively defeated the enemy’s designs, strengthening Pakistan’s position for all times to come.
It was thus, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said, that during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, the brave soldiers of Pak Army successfully targeted key enemy installations and enemy’s Air Defence Systems, particularly the S-400, were effectively neutralized. The sons and daughters in uniform are and will always remain the true pride of Pakistan, the Speaker added.
The matchless performance of Pakistan Air Force, he said, had filled every Pakistani with a unique sense of national pride and honour as it effectively placed Pakistan’s air supremacy in the region. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Sidhu and every Officer and Jawan of Pakistan Air Force deserve our joint accolade, said the Speaker.
At the same time, the professional strategy of Pakistan Navy completely confined the enemy, forcing the enemy to take refuge within its naval bases. The entire nation, the Speaker said, pays rich tributes to the Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf and every Officer and Sailor of Pakistan Navy.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further said that these actions inflicted severe damage on the enemy’s war-fighting capability and forced it into retreat.
In addition, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that modern cyber and electronic warfare strategies were also employed extensively during the operation, through which the enemy’s communication systems and command-and-control infrastructure were rendered ineffective.
NA Speaker further stated that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos proved that Pakistan is a peace-loving yet self-respecting state that prioritizes peace but will never compromise on the defence of its sovereignty.
He stressed that the Jammu & Kashmir dispute remains central to regional instability and called for its resolution under UN auspices, as per the aspirations and will of the Kashmiri people. The Speaker also cautioned against unilateral actions on the Indus Waters Treaty and called the holding of the Treaty in abeyance by India as “water terrorism”. He warned that Pakistan holds its rights reserved to respond befittingly to such blatant and unlawful acts of aggression.
The Speaker also prayed for the brave martyrs, who laid their lives while defending the motherland.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah stated that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos reflects the professional excellence of the Armed Forces and the unwavering resolve of the nation. He said the people of Pakistan remain united in every difficult time and are always prepared to defend the motherland. He added that whenever the country faces challenges, the entire nation will stand like a fortified wall against the enemy and support the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
