Fête de la Musique 2026 Promotes Cultural Exchange Between France and Pakistan

Entry to the event is free upon prior registration, says Alliance Française Islamabad

Islamabad – 19 July 2026 (Adnan Hameed): Alliance Française Islamabad, in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Pakistan and NESCAFÉ, will celebrate Fête de la Musique – International Music Fest 2026 today on Sunday at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad.

The festival will begin at 6:00 PM and is part of a simultaneous celebration taking place in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Entry to the event is free upon prior registration.

According to the press note, the International Music Fest 2026 will feature live performances by Pakistani and French artists, bringing together musicians and audiences in a celebration of music, cultural diversity, and friendship.

Organizers say the event aims to promote cultural exchange between France and Pakistan, celebrate artistic creativity, provide a platform for local and international musicians, encourage community participation, and strengthen people-to-people connections through the arts.

Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, was launched in France in 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture under then Minister Jack Lang and cultural planner Maurice Fleuret. Since then, it has grown into a global cultural movement celebrated in more than 120 countries and over 1,000 cities, with performances spanning a wide range of musical genres. Alliance Française Islamabad has been organizing the festival in Pakistan for several years, with this year’s edition expanding to three major cities across the country.
