Maurizio Cattelan’s artwork Comedian—a banana duct-taped to a wall—sold for $6.2m at Sotheby’s New Yrok, surpassing estimates. Chinese entrepreneur Justin Sun, who plans to eat the banana, won the bid. First unveiled in 2019, the piece has sparked global debates on art, with its banana replaced repeatedly after being eaten twice in public displays.
