Wang Gaofei Appreciates Pakistan’s Diverse Tourism Resources During Meeting with PTDC Chief
MD PTDC Showcases Gandhara Heritage and Tourism Potential to Chinese Media
Islamabad – 3 October 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : Wang Gaofei, Deputy Director, International Communication Department, China News Service (CNS), China, visited the Head Office of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) in Islamabad, where she met with Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director, PTDC.
Welcoming the distinguished guest to Pakistan, the Managing Director highlighted the country’s extraordinary diversity of tourism resources, with particular emphasis on its rich Buddhist heritage and the enduring legacy of the ancient Gandhara Civilization.
He briefed Wang on PTDC’s initiatives to enhance Pakistan’s visibility in the rapidly growing Chinese outbound tourism market, including familiarization visits for Chinese travel influencers, business delegations, media representatives and other tourism stakeholders.
The meeting also explored opportunities to further strengthen tourism and media exchanges between Pakistan and China, enhance destination awareness, promote cultural understanding, and encourage greater tourist flows and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
Sharing her experiences of travelling across Pakistan, Wang appreciated the country’s remarkable landscapes, cultural diversity and tourism resources, describing Pakistan as an underrated destination with immense tourism potential. She expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and arrangements extended during her visit and conveyed her interest in expanding future cooperation in tourism, media and cultural exchanges.
As a gesture of friendship and appreciation, the Managing Director presented Wang with Salam Pakistan souvenirs and Chinese-language tourism publications, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to welcoming Chinese visitors and promoting its diverse tourism experiences.
Through strategic international media engagement and collaboration, PTDC continues to showcase Pakistan’s tourism treasures to global audiences and build stronger bridges of tourism, culture and friendship between Pakistan and China.
