Embassy of Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Islamabad | April 14, 2026

The Embassy of Ireland in Islamabad marked its National Day, St. Patrick’s Day, with an elegant evening reception at Shadman Hall, Serena Hotel, bringing together policymakers, diplomats, and cultural voices in a celebration of shared values and growing bilateral ties.
Though traditionally observed on March, this year’s celebration, held on April, carried a deeper symbolic intent: to create space for meaningful engagement between Ireland and Pakistan’s leadership, diplomatic corps, and civil society.
At the center of the evening was Her Excellency Mary O’Neill, who hosted the event with a message that resonated beyond ceremonial warmth. Her remarks underscored Ireland’s commitment to fostering partnerships rooted in inclusivity, cultural exchange, and sustainable development.
The reception followed closely on the heels of a high-level meeting between Ambassador O’Neill and Shaza Fatima Khawaja, signalling a renewed emphasis on cooperation in technology, innovation, and digital transformation, areas increasingly defining modern diplomacy.
The gathering stood out not just for its elegance, but for its intent. The evening offered a reminder of the quiet power of cultural diplomacy, where relationships are nurtured through dialogue and presence
Officials and attendees described the event as “vibrant and unforgettable,” reflecting a growing warmth in Ireland-Pakistan relations.
