Punjab Cabinet Approves Rs30 Billion Ramadan Package

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved several major initiatives, including a Rs30 billion Ramadan relief package for 30 million people and the hiring of nearly 6,000 constables.

The “Nigahban Ramadan” package aims to assist low-income families during the holy month, with the government planning to introduce an ATM card next year. This will enable beneficiaries to receive Rs10,000 directly at home, eliminating the need for long queues.

Additionally, CM Maryam Nawaz announced a new investor-friendly policy designed to boost industrialization in Punjab. The initiative aims to simplify bureaucratic procedures and provide incentives to entrepreneurs. “Investors are welcome to establish industries and start operations immediately, with legal processes to follow,” she stated.

The cabinet also approved the “Zero Time to Start” policy for Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Industrial Estates, and Small Industrial Estates, ensuring faster issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to create a more business-friendly environment.

Maryam reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting industrialists by making business setup procedures more efficient and accessible. “We are dedicated to reducing complexities in setting up industries and fostering a more investor-friendly climate,” she emphasized.
