263rd Nepali Army Day Observed in Islamabad

The Embassy organized a programme to observe the 263rd Nepali Army Day yesterday evening. Lt. General Tabassam Habib was the Chief Guest, while the event was attended by senior Pakistani military officers, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, military attachés and the Nepali community in Islamabad.

Highlight of the celebration was a ceremonial cake-cutting, symbolizing the spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect between the armed forces of Pakistan and Nepal. Lt. The General Tabassam Habib commended the professionalism of the Nepali Army and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defense and diplomatic ties with SAARC member states.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Rita Dhital emphasized that the Nepali Army has stood as an institution embodying bravery and discipline for over two and a half centuries. She highlighted its evolving role as a partner in national development and as a first responder during natural disasters like earthquakes and floods.

The ceremony underscored the shared commitment to peace, stability, and collaborative efforts within the South Asian region.
