Pakistan and TRNC Further Strengthen Ties at 42nd Anniversary Ceremony in Islamabad
Islamabad – 15 November 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : The 42nd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was commemorated in Islamabad on Friday with a dignified and well-attended ceremony. The event brought together diplomats, government officials, members of the Turkish Cypriot community, and media representatives. The proceedings began with the national anthems of Pakistan and the TRNC, reflecting the spirit of friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
Speaking on the occasion, TRNC Ambassador Ms. Buket Kop highlighted the remarkable progress achieved by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in areas such as democratic governance, economic development, social justice, and the protection of human rights. She expressed profound gratitude to the motherland, the Republic of Türkiye, for its consistent and unwavering support. She also conveyed appreciation to the brotherly state of Pakistan for its principled and longstanding backing of the TRNC’s just cause.
A highlight of the ceremony was the cake-cutting segment, jointly led by Naeem Cheema from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Türkiye Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of TRNC Ms. Buket Kop, and the Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Zimbabwe, along with other distinguished diplomats. The event concluded with messages of unity and aspirations for regional peace, stability, and development.
Pakistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus share a warm, brotherly relationship rooted in historical goodwill, people-to-people ties, and cultural affinity. The strong bond between the peoples of both sides continues to grow through diplomacy, cultural cooperation, and shared values of solidarity and mutual respect.
