Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani Holds Key Meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Combodia – 4 February 2026 (MT Team) : Senate Chairman Sayed Yousaf Raza Gilani held an important meeting with Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Cambodia.

During the meeting, both leaders agreed to further strengthen Pakistan-Cambodia ties and reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy.

Chairman Gilani appreciated Cambodia’s support for Pakistan’s election to the United Nations Security Council and highlighted Cambodia’s important role in Pakistan’s relations with ASEAN.

The discussion also emphasized promoting parliamentary cooperation through friendship groups and committee exchanges.
Both sides agreed on enhancing collaboration in trade, defense, and security sectors, and exchanged views on joint initiatives to address climate change.
The leaders recognized the Buddhist heritage linked to the Gandhara civilization as a strong cultural bond between the two nations.

Chairman Gilani welcomed Cambodia’s participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to close cooperation for peace, regional stability, and development.

Senator Dr. Zarqa Soharwardy Taimur, Senator Abid Sher Ali, Zamir Hussain Ghumro, and Chairman Gilani’s Advisor Misbah Khur were also present during the meeting.
