Rotarians from Sri Lanka and Pakistan Pay Courtesy Call on High Commissioner -designate of Sri Lanka to Pakistan
Islamabad – 27 July 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : A delegation of senior Rotarians from Sri Lanka and Pakistan, led by Pubudu De Zoysa, former Governor of Rotary Club, Colombo District, paid a courtesy call on Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne (Retired), the High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka to Pakistan on 24 July 2025 at the High Commission Premises.
The distinguished delegation included Barrister Adnan Rohaila, Masrur J. Scheik, Shakuet Masood, and Nosherwan Khan, who are senior Rotarians and prominent members of the business community in Pakistan. A. Christy Ruban, Minister of this Mission and Krishantha Fernando, Rotarian from Sri Lanka were present at the meeting.
During the cordial meeting, both sides engaged in constructive discussions on the opportunities and challenges related to enhancing trade and business ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. They also expressed mutual interest in exploring avenues for deeper business engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing community service initiatives spearheaded by Rotary Clubs in both countries.
The meeting underscored the importance of people-to-people connections and highlighted the pivotal role of service organizations like Rotary in fostering bilateral cooperation and goodwill.
