Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group Meets Visiting Delegation from the Saudi Shura Council


Islamabad – 7 October 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : The Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), chaired by Honourable Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Zaman, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and Convener of the Group, held a meeting with the visiting Parliamentary Delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Parliament House, Islamabad.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was chaired by Eng. Khaled Abdullah Al Buraik, accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman, Dr. Ebtisam Abdullah Al Jubair and senior officials of the Shura Council. Members of the National Assembly, including Mr. Mujahid Ali, Syed Hafeezuddin, Ms. Zeb Jaffar, Ms. Sehar Kamran, Ms. Shagufta Jumani and Mr. Muhammad Usman Badini, attended the meeting.

In his remarks, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Zaman warmly welcomed the Saudi delegation, noting that the visit reflects the deep-rooted brotherhood and enduring partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, nurtured under the visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

He reaffirmed that the people of Pakistan hold the Kingdom in the highest esteem, bound by shared faith and brotherhood. Referring to the recent Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, he noted that its signing under the leadership of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif marks a major milestone in bilateral relations, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to safeguarding peace and regional stability.

Members of the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with the Kingdom in all circumstances.

The Group further emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, highlighting that the Pakistan–Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group serves as a vital channel to enhance people-to-people linkages and promote parliamentary and institutional exchanges. It was noted that the Action Plan shared by the National Assembly would help advance joint initiatives and strengthen legislative collaboration.

Commending the Kingdom’s transformative progress under His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s visionary leadership, the Convener described Saudi Vision 2030 as a forward-looking model of modernization and reform, harmonizing faith, tradition and innovation. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a bridge between cultures and a global hub for economic diplomacy, demonstrated through its successful hosting of major international events such as the World Economic Forum, the WAIPA World Investment Conference, the WIPO Diplomatic Conference and the One Water Summit.

Chairing the meeting from the Saudi side, Eng. Khaled Abdullah Al Buraik conveyed deep appreciation to the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group for their warm hospitality and spirit of brotherhood. He described the meeting as a valuable opportunity to reinforce inter-parliamentary cooperation and to translate the vision of the leaderships of both countries into tangible outcomes. Emphasizing the importance of sustained collaboration, he called for regular parliamentary exchanges to promote institutional linkages and expand bilateral cooperation.

Eng. Al Buraik reaffirmed the Kingdom’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of defence, regional stability, trade, investment, technology, renewable energy and parliamentary exchanges.

The members of the Group conveyed keen anticipation of the visit of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to Pakistan, considering it a significant step toward further strengthening the brotherly ties between the two nations.

Both sides agreed that the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group provides an effective institutional platform to promote bilateral cooperation, facilitate inter-parliamentary exchanges and strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of the two brotherly nations.
