Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken swift action against poor hospital management by suspending the principal and medical superintendent (MS) of Jinnah Hospital after a surprise inspection uncovered serious complaints from patients and their families.
During her surprise visit on Tuesday, CM Maryam Nawaz was met with numerous complaints regarding the unavailability of medicines and lack of diagnostic tests. Disturbed by the situation, she immediately ordered disciplinary action against those responsible for mismanagement.
Patients reported non-availability of free medicines, essential diagnostic tests were missing, delaying treatment, and the emergency ward lacked proper facilities, causing distress to patients. CM Maryam Nawaz personally inspected the medicine store, directing staff to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medicines. Expressing strong displeasure, she made it clear that the government will not tolerate healthcare negligence.
During her hospital tour, she spoke with patients and attendants, inquiring about the quality of care. In response to further complaints about inadequate medical services, she directed hospital management to take urgent corrective actions.
Providing citizens with quality and timely healthcare is the government’s top priority, stated CM Maryam Nawaz, emphasizing that any failure in service delivery will not be tolerated.
