Kuwait Embassy marks Independence, Liberation Days

Embassy of Kuwait in Islamabad commemorates the 65th Independence Day and 35th Liberation Day

Islamabad – 4 February 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Pakistan, Nassar Abdulrehman Almutari, hosted a commemorative ceremony in Islamabad to mark the 65th Anniversary of the Independence Day and the 35th Anniversary of the Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait. The event highlighted the shared values of sovereignty, resilience, and the enduring friendship between Kuwait and Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of distinguished guests, including diplomats from Arab and Gulf countries, senior officials, religious scholars, members of civil society, and media representatives.

From the Pakistani side, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal graced the event as a Chief Guest, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi was also graced the occasion, reflecting the strong bilateral ties and mutual respect between the two brotherly countries.

The event commenced with the playing of the national anthems of Pakistan and Kuwait, followed by a ceremonial cake-cutting held alongside the national flags of both nations. The gathering provided an opportunity to reaffirm the deep-rooted diplomatic relations and people-to-people connections between Kuwait and Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with a networking reception, during which guests were treated to a variety of traditional Kuwaiti cuisine graciously hosted by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait.
