King Mohammed VI Declares October 31 as Morocco’s,Unity Day

Rabat – 5 November 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : In view of the historic turning point in the national Cause process and mindful of the decisive developments brought about by Resolution 2797/2025 of the Security Council, which was the subject of the recent Speech addressed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to His faithful people, it has been decided to proclaim October 31 of each year as a national holiday and an occasion on which His Majesty the King grants His pardon, according to the statement issued by the Royal Office, ”

His Majesty the King, has graciously named this national holiday “Aid Al Wahda (Unity Day)”, with all that it entails in terms of meanings and references to the national unity and the unshakable territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

This holiday shall be a uniting national occasion for expressing attachment to the Kingdom’s national sacred values and its legitimate rights.
It has also been decided that the Royal Speech will henceforth be delivered on two official occasions: the first through the Speech on the glorious Throne Day and the second at the opening of the Parliament.

In doing so, His Majesty the King, as Commander of the Faithful and Head of State, reserves the right to address His faithful people at any time and on any occasion that His Majesty the King, deems appropriate.

The festivities marking the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March shall also proceed as planned, albeit without the Sovereign addressing a Speech to the Nation on this occasion».
