JSMU Holds Kashmir Day Solidarity Rally
Karachi – 4 February 2026 (MT Team) : Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) today observed Kashmir Day with a Solidarity Rally across its campus. A large assembly of students, faculty, and administrative staff marched from Gate No. 1 to Gate No. 2 in demonstration of peace and support.
The rally aimed to express unwavering solidarity with the people of Kashmir and to bring global attention to the longstanding humanitarian and human rights issues in the region. Participants carried banners and placards advocating for peace, justice, and the right to self-determination, says press note. Principal SIOHS Professor Sajid Hanif, faculty and students turned out in full support of the rally.
Vice-Chancellor JSMU, Professor Amjad Siraj Memon, led the rally and addressed the participants. He stated, “Our peaceful march is a testament to our commitment to justice and human dignity. As future healthcare professionals, we are acutely aware of the sanctity of human life and the right to health and peace for all people, everywhere.”
The event, organized by the University’s Event Organizing Committee, fostered a spirit of unity and consciousness among the student body. It emphasized the role of the youth and academic institutions in advocating for humanitarian causes on global platforms.
JSMU remains dedicated not only to academic excellence but also to instilling a sense of social responsibility and ethical leadership in its students.
