Indonesia’s 80th Independence and Armed Forces Day Commemorated Alongside 75 Years of Bilateral Ties with Pakistan

Paguyuban Citra and Young Performers from Both Nations Showcase Cultural Harmony.
Islamabad – 7 November 2025 (Adnan Hameed) – The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia–Pakistan Diplomatic Relations under the theme “75 Years of Enduring Friendship and Trust between Indonesia and Pakistan” at the Movenpick Hotel, Islamabad.

Speaking at an event of the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces & Independence Day, Minister Parliamentry Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Indonesia. Highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, he emphasized that Pakistan and Indonesia are brotherly countries whose relationship continues to grow stronger and more prosperous with each passing day.

In his welcoming remarks, Chandra W. Sukotjo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan, extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests on behalf of the Indonesian Embassy and his spouse. He highlighted that the celebration symbolized the enduring trust and friendship between the two brotherly nations.

Ambassador Sukotjo expressed confidence that the commemoration would reinvigorate bilateral cooperation and inspire both sides to transform their strong relations into more concrete partnerships for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Indonesia and Pakistan. He underlined that business engagements and people-to-people contacts are key to strengthening fraternal ties and ensuring their continued relevance for future generations.


The evening featured a vibrant series of cultural performances, including presentations by the Embassy’s Women Association, young performers from both Indonesia and Pakistan, and Paguyuban Citra, a cultural troupe from Indonesia led by Madam Linda Amalia Gumelar, former Minister in the Indonesian Cabinet.

In conclusion, the Ambassador extended appreciation to the Indonesian Embassy’s team and all contributors for their efforts in making the celebration successful and memorable.
The ceremony concluded with the spirited slogan, “Indonesia–Pakistan Doshti Zindabad!”
