German Military Attaché Staff Marks 70th Anniversary of Bundeswehr
Islamabad —26 November 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : The Military Attaché Staff of the Federal Republic of Germany celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Federal Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, which was founded on 12 November 1955.
German Ambassador Ina Lepel during the ceremony, highlighted the reasons behind the establishment of the Bundeswehr and underscored the long-standing bilateral military relations between Germany and Pakistan, noting that cooperation began with the creation of the German Defence Attaché Staff in Rawalpindi in 1967, says press note.
The event was attended by members of the Corps of Service Attachés, Pakistan Military Flag and Staff Officers, diplomats, and friends of the Defence Attaché Section.
A notable moment of the ceremony was a trumpet solo by Sapoy Mohammad Ishaq—arranged with support from Army Headquarters—who performed “Der gute Kamerad” (“The Good Comrade”) in tribute to all who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for their countries.
