Islamabad – 1 December 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany brought festive cheer to Islamabad by hosting a vibrant Christmas Market, offering traditional treats, handmade crafts, and a variety of stalls for guests to enjoy early holiday shopping. Visitors browsed through shawls, handbags, greeting cards, dolls, and a wide range of artisanal products.

The market showcased traditional handicrafts, jewellery, pottery, Christmas décor, and quality housewares. Guests also found wreaths, chocolates, seasonal delicacies, toys, and festive ornaments across the various kiosks.

German Ambassador Ina Lepel warmly greeted attendees and expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event joyful and meaningful. All proceeds from the market will be donated to charity.

“We are delighted to see so many familiar faces and welcome guests from many different countries, reflecting the international spirit that makes Islamabad such a special place. Your presence here today is testament to charity and community, for which we are deeply grateful. Christmas is a time for giving and reflection,” said Ambassador Ina Lepel.

Adding to the festive ambiance, girls from House Emmanuel performed Christmas carols, and the German Embassy choir presented a sing-along session with DJ Oliver, receiving enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The program also featured performances by Music on Mission (MOM’s) Kids from King’s Home, Lahore—an initiative helping traumatised and vulnerable children heal through music. Alongside face painting, children enjoyed crafting Christmas decorations at a dedicated activity corner.

A beautifully adorned Christmas tree stood at the heart of the venue, and the Weihnachtsmann—the German Santa Claus—made a special appearance, delighting children by hvanding out sweets. Santa also conducted a raffle draw, adding excitement to the celebration.
