Egypt, Pakistan Strengthen Health Cooperation with Focus on Disease Control and Capacity Building

Islamabad – 31 January 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ihab Abdel Hamid, called on Pakistan’s Minister of Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, to discuss avenues for supporting and enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the depth and durability of the relations between Egypt and Pakistan, noting significant progress in healthcare, disease control, and institutional capacity building. The officials expressed appreciation for the ongoing collaboration and emphasized the importance of building on shared successes in the coming years.

The Pakistani delegation commended Egypt’s pioneering role in combating viral hepatitis and in strengthening the capacities of pharmaceutical regulatory authorities in line with World Health Organization standards.

Both parties reiterated their commitment to advancing successful health cooperation and underscored the importance of continued coordination and exchange of expertise to serve the interests of the people of both nations.
