COMSATS University and Chang Jiang Industrial Company Sign MoU to Establish Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building
Islamabad – 25 November, 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and Chang Jiang Industrial Company (CJI) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at developing a state-of-the-art Innovation & Entrepreneurship Building at the CUI Islamabad Campus under a 30-year Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) model. The signing took place at CUI-Islamabad Campus on Monday, in the presence of senior executives of CJI and senior management of CUI.
According to the received details a ceremony for signing a memorandum of understanding by senior officials from CUI led by Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector CUI and Executives from Chang Jiang Industrial Company led by the Chairman CJI Mr. Zhang Yang was held at the Islamabad Campus of the COMSATS University.
The collaboration aims to establish a multi-storey facility equipped with advanced R&D laboratories, incubation centres, co-working spaces, and dedicated zones for startup development.
The building will support priority sectors including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, AgriTech, renewable energy, digital health, electric mobility, advanced manufacturing and related emerging technologies.
Under the MoU, CUI will allocate land and oversee academic, research and incubation functions, while CJI will finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the building during the concession period.
The partnership is expected to significantly strengthen Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem, create new opportunities for students and researchers, and enhance national capabilities in applied research and technology development.
Senior leadership from both sides expressed strong optimism about the collaboration and reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating Pakistan’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
