Pakistan’ Federal Minister for National Food and Security Rana Tanveer Hussain Attends Bangladesh Independence Day Ceremony as Chief Guest
Islamabad – 31 March 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad organized a colorful reception to mark the Independence and National Day. The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan, along with his spouse, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.
During the event, various aspects of Bangladesh’s economy, culture, tradition, tourism and development were highlighted through exhibitions, traditional food, and networking discussions.
On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, the Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. In addition, ministers, members of parliament, senior government officials, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, members of the business community, journalists, civil society representatives, media personalities, and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora were present at the event.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Pakistan. Later, High Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan delivered his welcome address. He highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and emphasized enhancing cooperation in various sectors. He stressed the need to increase collaboration in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.
He further stated that the government of Bangladesh is committed to maintaining friendly relations with all countries based on mutual respect and shared interests. He also mentioned Bangladesh’s candidature for a leadership position in an international forum and sought support from the international community.
The Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, in his remarks, congratulated the government and people of Bangladesh on the occasion of their Independence and National Day. He appreciated the remarkable socio-economic development achieved by Bangladesh and emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh for the benefit of the people of both countries.
