Bangladesh Marks National Day with Flag Hoisting and Prayers in Islamabad
Islamabad – 26 March 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad commemorated Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day with due dignity and enthusiasm at its premises.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by High Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan, followed by the national anthem in the presence of all officials and employees at the embassy premises.
The event included recitation from the Holy Quran, a moment of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the 1971 war, and readings of official messages from Bangladesh’s leadership.
On this occasion, a documentary highlighting the significance of Independence Day was also screened.
In his remarks, the High Commissioner paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and acknowledged the contributions of freedom fighters, days press note. He emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and continued efforts toward building a prosperous and inclusive Bangladesh.
The event concluded with special prayers for the country’s progress and for the departed souls.
