Maldivian President Receives Warm Welcome at PM House, Guard of Honour-Presented
Islamabad – 21 October 2026 (Adnab Hameed): Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was accorded a warm welcome and presented with a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House on Wednesday.
A formal reception ceremony was held in honour of the Maldivian President, who is visiting Pakistan. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the distinguished guest upon his arrival. The two leaders exchanged handshakes and pleasantries, says press note.
The national anthems of Pakistan and the Maldives were played on the occasion. A smartly turned-out contingent of the three services of the Pakistan Armed Forces presented a Guard of Honour to the Maldivian President, who also inspected the guard alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister introduced members of his Cabinet and senior officials of the Prime Minister’s House to the visiting President, who, in turn, introduced members of his delegation to the Prime Minister.
As part of the ceremony, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu also planted a sapling on the lawns of the Prime Minister’s House. Prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of both countries.
