Pakistan-Tajikistan Friendship Shines in Islamabad Through Music-Dance and Culture

Tajik Singer Wins Standing Ovation with Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhay

Islamabad – 7 October 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : A colorful cultural evening was jointly organized by The Centaurus Mall and the Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad on 6th October, highlighting the close friendship and cultural ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

A visiting cultural troupe from Tajikistan presented traditional music, dance and artistic performances. The artists, dressed in traditional costumes, received warm applause from the audience for their energetic and graceful performances.

A special moment came when a Tajik singer performed the popular Pakistani national song “Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhay, Qadam Qadam Abaad.” The performance received a standing ovation and loud applause from the audience, reflecting the strong affection and friendship between the peoples of Pakistan and Tajikistan.

CEO Centaurus and Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, appreciated the performances of the Tajik artists and thanked the Embassy of Tajikistan for its cooperation in organizing the event.

Sardar Yasir said cultural exchanges play an important role in bringing nations closer and promoting mutual understanding. He said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Central Asian countries and wants to further strengthen cooperation in tourism, trade, culture and regional connectivity.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to promote tourism and present the country’s natural beauty, history and cultural diversity to international visitors. He said stronger people-to-people contacts can create new opportunities for regional cooperation.

Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, thanked The Centaurus for providing a platform to showcase Tajik culture and traditions. He said Tajikistan highly values its friendly relations with Pakistan and considers Pakistan an important partner in the region.

The ambassador said cultural diplomacy is an effective way to strengthen friendship between nations and bring communities closer. He appreciated the warm response from the Pakistani audience and said such events help people of both countries learn more about each other’s traditions, culture and values.

The cultural evening concluded with appreciation for the Tajik artists and renewed calls for greater cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

This special cultural event was held in Islamabad to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage, artistic traditions, and vibrant musical legacy.
