Yunnan Normal-University Professor Praises China-Window’s Cultural Diplomacy Efforts

Peshawar – 28 August 2026 (MT Team) : Professor Zhang Naiwen of Yunnan Normal University visited China Window, the Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar, and highly appreciated its role in promoting Chinese culture, strengthening Pakistan-China friendship and enhancing people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

During his visit, Professor Zhang toured the different galleries of China Window, where he was briefed about the centre’s cultural, educational and public diplomacy activities. He took keen interest in the photographs, displays and exhibits depicting China’s history, culture, development, tourism, traditions and the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.

He appreciated the systematic presentation of Chinese culture and said such initiatives provide Pakistani visitors with an opportunity to better understand China and its people.

Sharing his impressions, Professor Zhang said: “This is our first visit to China Window in Peshawar. We all feel that Chinese culture has been presented here in a very systematic and impressive way. As Chinese people, we are deeply moved to see, here in Pakistan, a local person putting so much dedication and effort into showcasing and promoting Chinese culture. We sincerely hope that China Window will continue to develop and become even better in the future.”

On the occasion, Professor Zhang also interviewed Administrator China Window Amjad Aziz Malik about the establishment of the centre, the idea behind its creation and the various activities undertaken since its inception.

During the interaction, he was briefed about China Window’s efforts to promote cultural understanding, Chinese language education, educational exchanges, youth engagement and greater interaction between the peoples of Pakistan and China.

Professor Zhang observed that China Window was a distinctive example of people-to-people diplomacy, describing it as the world’s only Chinese cultural and exhibition centre independently founded and operated by foreigners for the promotion of Chinese culture.

He further noted that China Window has emerged as an important grassroots cultural platform and is recommended by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan as a significant centre for promoting cultural exchanges and friendship.

He said the dedication shown in establishing and operating such a centre reflected the deep affection of the Pakistani people for China and demonstrated the strength of the time-tested relationship between the two countries.

Professor Zhang expressed the hope that China Window would continue expanding its activities and serve as an increasingly effective bridge between the peoples of Pakistan and China.

Administrator China Window Amjad Aziz Malik thanked Professor Zhang Naiwen for visiting the centre and said China Window would continue its efforts to promote mutual understanding, cultural exchanges and stronger people-to-people relations between Pakistan and China.
