Putting Girls’ Health First: MIH and Royal Thai Embassy Join Hands for Community Healthcare
Medical camp at Hamara Ghar provides free healthcare and specialized services to 120 girls and children.
Islamabad: Focusing on the health, wellbeing and future of girls, Maroof International Hospital (MIH), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy Islamabad, organized a medical camp at Hamara Ghar Welfare Trust, Shah Allah Ditta.
Held under MIH’s Community Support Program and the Embassy’s voluntary community service initiatives, the camp provided around 120 girls and children with free medical consultations, medicines and healthcare guidance, bringing essential healthcare closer to a community in need.
The camp offered consultations across multiple specialties, including Ophthalmology and Eye Care, Pediatrics, General Medicine, Dental Care, Nutrition and Dietetics, Mental Health, and Early Intervention Therapy, including specialized support for children experiencing speech delays and developmental needs.
H.E. Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, appreciated MIH for its commitment to serving humanity and praised Hamara Ghar for its dedication to caring for children who have lost their parents, warmly referring to them as “little angels.
The Ambassador said, “Compassion becomes meaningful when it reaches those who need it most. Today’s initiative is not only about healthcare; it is about sharing care, dignity and hope with these wonderful children. This spirit of compassion is reflected in the Royal Thai Embassy’s commitment to community service and humanitarian support.
He appreciated the partnership between MIH, the Royal Thai Embassy and Hamara Ghar, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to promote community wellbeing. He also presented gifts to the children and encouraged Hamara Ghar to continue its valuable work.
Chairman MIH, Ch. Naseer Ahmed, reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to supporting the children of Hamara Ghar beyond healthcare by creating opportunities for their professional development.
Healthcare is not simply about treating illness; it is about giving people the confidence and opportunity to build a better future. These girls have enormous potential, and we want to stand beside them as they grow, he said.
He further announced that MIH would extend internship opportunities to Hamara Ghar children when they reach the appropriate stage, along with additional avenues of support to help them gain practical exposure, professional skills and confidence.

Capt. (R) Tariq Mehmood Satti, CEO of Hamara Ghar Welfare Trust, shared that the organization was founded in 2005 in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. What began as an effort to support children affected by tragedy has evolved into a home providing care, education and opportunities for a better future.
Today, Hamara Ghar provides a safe and nurturing home to approximately 500 girls, from the age of three through university, supporting them with shelter, education, healthcare and opportunities to shape their own futures.
The medical camp was held in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Her Majesty the late Queen Sirikit of Thailand and Thailand’s National Mother’s Day. Her Majesty’s enduring legacy of compassion and service provided a meaningful backdrop to an initiative focused on girls’ health, dignity and wellbeing.
The collaboration between MIH, the Royal Thai Embassy and Hamara Ghar reaffirmed the power of partnerships to bring healthcare and hope to communities that need it most, while reinforcing a shared commitment to ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to grow up healthy, confident and empowered.
