Morocco Marks 27th Anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s Accession to the Throne

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Pakistan commemorated the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne, celebrating Morocco’s transformation under his leadership and the enduring friendship between Morocco and Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, attending as Chief Guest, congratulated the Government and people of Morocco and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

Highlighting the country’s economic progress, Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan Mohamed Karmoune said Morocco’s GDP had more than tripled, while democratic institutions, social protection and access to healthcare had been streng-thened. Economic growth reached approximately 4.9 percent in 2025, with similar or stronger performance anticipated in 2026.

He Ambassador noted Morocco’s emergence as a regional hub for industry, tourism and investment, particularly in automotive manufacturing, aviation, renewable energy and food processing. With annual production capacity approaching one million vehicles, Morocco has become Africa’s leading automobile exporter. The country also welcomed nearly 20 million visitors in 2025.

 

He reaffirmed Morocco’s determination to deepen cooperation with Pakistan, particularly through stronger economic engagement, investment and institutional collaboration, and expressed confidence that the two countries could work together to advance their shared development aspirations and elevate bilateral relations to new levels of excellence.
