Islamabad – 8 July 2026 (Adnan Hameed): A solo art exhibition titled “Reentry” by Pakistani artist Ali Muzafar was inaugurated at Serena Hotels in Islamabad on 8 July 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated by Aziz Boolani, CEO of Serena Hotels, in the presence of diplomats, members of the art community, cultural enthusiasts, and media representatives.
Aziz Boolani commended Ali Muzaffar for his exceptional contribution to contemporary art, noting that Reentry beautifully showcases the artist’s creativity, innovation, and ability to connect audiences through powerful visual storytelling.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of Satrang Art Gallery, , said the exhibition marks Ali Muzaffar’s first solo exhibition in Pakistan and introduces a new body of work created during a period of return, reflection, and transition. She noted that the artist’s multidisciplinary practice spans painting, printmaking, and sculpture, exploring form, material, and perception through an open and intuitive creative process.

She said the exhibition’s title, Reentry, symbolizes not only a physical return to Pakistan but also a deeper re-engagement with place, history, and identity. According to her, the works encourage viewers to engage thoughtfully with themes of uncertainty, transformation, and self-discovery while reflecting the artist’s renewed connection with his homeland.

In his artist statement, Ali Muzaffar said his artistic practice seeks to create encounters rather than fixed images, allowing meaning to emerge gradually through observation and experience. He explained that his work has been shaped by his journey between Pakistan and the United States and by his background in Indo-Persian miniature painting, sculpture, and printmaking.

The artist further shared that returning to Pakistan inspired him to embrace unfamiliar materials and techniques, leading to a more intuitive process based on staining, layering, erasure, and experimentation. He described his work as an ongoing conversation with both the material and his own evolving identity, emphasizing that art provides a space to engage with uncertainty rather than resolve it.

The exhibition presents a significant new chapter in Ali Muzaffar’s artistic journey and offers visitors an opportunity to experience a contemporary body of work that reflects themes of memory, movement, identity, and belonging.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 26 July 2026, providing art enthusiasts and the general public an opportunity to experience Ali Muzaffar’s work at Satrang Art Gallery, Serena Hotels Islamabad.
