Islamabad – July 1, 2026 (Adnan Hameed): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Jiang Zaidong has highlighted the historic journey and achievements of the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the past 105 years, while reaffirming China’s commitment to further strengthening its all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with Pakistan.
The Ambassador made these remarks while addressing a reception held in Islamabad to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, representatives of political parties, senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders, Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese compatriots.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong expressed gratitude to the Pakistani people and friends from different sectors for their continued support and contributions towards strengthening China-Pakistan relations.
He said the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC was an important occasion to review China’s remarkable journey of development and the role played by the Party in uniting and leading the Chinese people towards modernization and national progress.
The Ambassador said that under the leadership of the CPC, China has achieved historic transformations in economic growth, poverty reduction, technological innovation, infrastructure development and improvement of living standards.
He highlighted that the CPC has remained committed to serving the Chinese people and working for national rejuvenation. He said China has moved from a period of challenges to becoming a major global economic power through continuous reforms, development and modernization.
Ambassador Jiang said China has achieved remarkable progress in improving people’s quality of life, including the establishment of large-scale education, healthcare and social security systems. He added that China successfully lifted millions of people out of poverty, creating one of the largest poverty reduction achievements in human history.
He noted that China’s economic development has continued to provide opportunities for global cooperation and has contributed positively to international economic growth.
Talking about China’s international role, Ambassador Jiang said China remains committed to the principles of peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit. He said China continues to promote global cooperation through initiatives including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
He stated that the BRI has become an important platform for international economic cooperation, supporting infrastructure development, trade connectivity and shared prosperity among participating countries.
While discussing Pakistan-China cooperation, Ambassador Jiang described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a flagship project of BRI cooperation and a symbol of the deep friendship between the two countries.
He said CPEC has contributed significantly to Pakistan’s economic and social development through investment in energy, infrastructure, transport and other important sectors.
The Ambassador said CPEC has helped create employment opportunities, improve connectivity and strengthen economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.
“China and Pakistan are iron-clad brothers, and friendship with China is a shared consensus among Pakistani people and political parties,” Ambassador Jiang said.
He emphasized that China is ready to further enhance cooperation with Pakistan in economic development, political exchanges, trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.
The Ambassador also appreciated Pakistan’s recent economic progress and congratulated the Pakistani nation on its development efforts. He expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue moving towards stability and prosperity.
Highlighting the importance of the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations, Ambassador Jiang said both countries should use this opportunity to further deepen bilateral cooperation and advance the China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
He said China is committed to working with Pakistan to implement the important understandings reached between the leadership of both countries and further promote high-quality cooperation under CPEC.
Ambassador Jiang also stressed the importance of exchanges between political parties of both countries and said China welcomes greater cooperation and dialogue on governance, development strategies and national progress.
He concluded by expressing hope that China and Pakistan would continue to strengthen their historic friendship and work together for peace, stability and prosperity.
The reception concluded with wishes for continued progress, harmony and success for the peoples of China and Pakistan.
