Field Marshal Asim Munir arrives in Tehran for high-level diplomatic talks
Pakistan moves to strengthen regional stability through Tehran diplomatic talks
Rawalpindi – 16 April 2026 (Adnan Hameed): The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday arrived in Tehran.
The visit is part of ongoing diplomatic and mediation efforts, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here.
Iranian FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi mentioned on his official Twitter said: “Delighted to welcome Field Marshal Munir to Iran. Expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s gracious hosting of dialogue, emphasizing that it reflects our deep and great bilateral relationship. Our commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region remains strong—and shared.”
