Islamabad – 12 April, 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, has stated that the Islamabad Talks are “not an event but a process,” highlighting their importance as a continuing diplomatic initiative.

He noted that the Islamabad Talks have laid the foundation for a diplomatic process which, if supported by strengthened trust and political will, can create a sustainable framework to serve the interests of all parties.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the friendly and brotherly country of Pakistan, particularly Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, for their goodwill and initiative in facilitating the talks.

He further appreciated the tireless efforts of all sectors in Pakistan, including the government, army, police, and security forces, for ensuring that the talks were conducted in a dignified manner. He noted that the discussions took place in a calm, orderly, and secure environment, with equal logistical opportunities provided to both sides.

The Ambassador also highlighted that the high-ranking Iranian negotiating team pursued the talks with dignity, self-confidence, and faith in Allah Almighty, while paying attention to the concerns of the people, in order to safeguard national interests and the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation.
