Germany Endorses Pakistan’s Diplomatic Push for Iran-U.S. Negotiations
PM Shehbaz, German Chancellor Discuss Iran-U.S. Ceasefire and Upcoming Islamabad Talks
Islamabad – 9 April 2026 (Adnan Hameed) : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz.
During their warm and cordial conversation, the German Chancellor appreciated the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts that resulted in the ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. and the start of negotiations to be held in Islamabad this week.
While thanking the Chancellor for Germany’s endorsement of Pakistan’s sincere and genuine mediation efforts, the Prime Minister said that it was critical to ensure that the ceasefire continued so that the negotiations could result in successful outcomes.
