ICCBS, NTU sign MoU to enhance research collaboration

ICCBS Signs MoU with Faisalabad’s National Textile University to Promote Research Collaboration

Karachi – 20 November 2025 (MT Team) : The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, to strengthen cooperation in academics and research.

Prof. Dr. M. Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, University of Karachi, and Prof. Dr. Rashid Masood, Rector of NTU, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions during a ceremony held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry.

Prof. Dr. Raza Shah emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation for the advancement of both institutions. He noted that academic partnerships play a crucial role in promoting scientific excellence and building stronger research networks across Pakistan. Highlighting the institutional stature of ICCBS, he stated that it is one of the country’s leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, serving as a hub for training scholars from various countries.

In his remarks, Prof. Rashid Masood said that since its inception, the National Textile University has been the country’s premier institute for textile education, catering to the technical and managerial human resource needs of almost the entire textile industry of Pakistan. He added that NTU’s mission is to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development and the welfare of humanity through excellence in education, research, and innovation in areas of national importance, with a special focus on textiles and clothing.

According to the MoU, both institutions agreed to support each other in research and development. NTU and ICCBS are committed to joining hands for the betterment of society. The partnership aims to enhance scientific knowledge, foster innovation, and strengthen academic linkages for the benefit of students, faculty, and researchers.
