Inaugural Ceremony of Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference Held in Karachi
Karachi – November 3, 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : The inaugural ceremony of the second edition of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2025) was held at the Expo Centre Karachi. The Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saleh Al-Jasser, attended the event as the Guest of Honour, while Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Upon their arrival, both dignitaries were warmly received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the immense potential of Pakistan’s maritime sector, emphasizing its vital role in the development of the national economy. He appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Navy for organizing the Maritime Expo to raise public awareness about the importance of the Blue Economy and to showcase the country’s maritime resources. The Chief Guest formally inaugurated the Expo, unveiled a commemorative postage stamp, and later visited various exhibition stalls.

This four-day event, organized by the Pakistan Navy under the patronage of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, will continue until November 6, 2025. The participation of delegations from 44 countries and 178 national and international exhibitors reflects the growing global interest in Pakistan’s maritime sector.

The Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference serves as a prominent platform to promote maritime awareness at both national and international levels, while highlighting the immense potential of Pakistan’s Blue Economy.
The ceremony was attended by members of the civil and military leadership, international delegates, and distinguished representatives from the industrial and business sectors in large numbers.
