Egypt’s Envoy, Pakistani Minister Discuss Maritime Cooperation

Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan Meets Pakistani Minister for Maritime Affairs to Explore Cooperation in Ports and Maritime Connectivity.

Islamabad – 17 October 2025 (Adnan Hameed) : Ambassador Dr. Ehab Abdel Hameed, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, held a meeting on October 15 with Muhammad Junaid, Pakistan’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of ports and maritime connectivity.

During the meeting, Ambassador Abdel Hameed highlighted the significant progress Egypt has achieved in the maritime sector and related infrastructure. He underscored the strategic importance of the Suez Canal Economic Zone as a regional and international logistics hub, facilitating global trade flows. He also emphasized Egypt’s geographic position as a vital gateway for Pakistani goods to access priority markets in Africa and the Arab region.

For his part, Minister Junaid expressed his satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations and affirmed Pakistan’s interest in deepening cooperation with Egypt, particularly in the maritime domain. According to the press note, He also expressed Pakistan’s keenness to enhance technical collaboration, exchange visits and expertise, and build partnerships that maximize mutual benefit in the development of port infrastructure and maritime services.

The meeting comes as part of the two countries’ shared commitment to expanding their strategic partnership and exploring new areas of collaboration across sectors of mutual interest.
